Listen "Veneration and Prayer to Mary and the Saints. Latria vs. Dulia. Is this Biblical?"
Episode Synopsis
I give a brief biography of Jacques Lafevre. Then I move onto to explaining why Catholics have statues, images, and relics as part of their worship. Catholics do not "worship" Mary and the Saints. Rather, they "venerate" them. This is explained by Catholics by separating latria and dulia. Latria is service given only to God. Dulia is service which can be given to God, but can also be given to Mary and the Saints. I argue this distinction of latria and dulia is not Biblical. I then share some prayers offered to Mary.ResourcesCanon+ AppHeralds of the Reformation (Book)Debate: White vs. Madrid: Veneration of Saints and ImagesEx-Nun on the Worship of MaryMother of Perpetual Help PrayerStolen foreskin of JesusThe Roman Catholic Controversy by Dr. James WhiteMy Friend’s Podcast“Andrew’s Daily Five” - Music countdowns.
