In Episode 3, we chat with documentary film-maker & former journalist, Susannah-Heath Eves. Her 2017 debut independent film, JUGAAD, is streaming globally on Netflix. The outsider-filmmaker non-judgmentally captures the emotional essence of an important & complex urban centre while reflecting on how we survive our paradoxical world. To her, Jugaad is the connective tissue of the city and is at the crux of survival in our world today. We explore her evolving relationship with India, jugaad (the film & the mindset), how she leaned into jugaad to make jugaad, the responses to the film & finally how technology is making her field more accessible while creating more space for creativity, flexibility & frugal innovation.
