First: Go to God in prayer directly with your questions before all else.
Second: Keep notes on what you think God is telling you in answer to the questions you brought to Him.
Third: Take your notes and do your own Bible study FIRST
Fourth: Practice Doing what God is showing you through the word
Fifth: Compare your notes and conclusions with other Bible resources and commentaries.
Sixth: Then, if you still need further counsel and advice on how to understand and obey a passage, then you seek out other older brothers and sisters and gather other human opinions after all that.
