Listen "Podcast: Spoken Language Study - The Cutting Edge of Language Development"
Episode Synopsis
Since this year's course, which uses Shakespeare's Macbeth as its central text, is going to involve sophisticated analysis of oral language - language that's spoken - we've started the programme with a study of the richness and nuance in our own interpersonal speech. We very quickly came to discover that the way we, especially young people, modify language as we speak is a clever and innovative approach to communication. In this podcast I offer some technical terms and framing for these innovations in language - which should help support your future analysis. Don't forget to check out the links to our class resources in the show notes - and thanks again for listening to my first podcast for this course. Catch you next week!
