This series is called “The Train at Platform Five” an oral history of Kings Cross rail workers.A team of researchers interviewed 25 people who worked at this busy London railway terminal to document what life was like working at the station for drivers, guards, pantry boys, station staff and more.In Episode One, we explore how and why people came to work at Kings Cross Railway Station with some going back to the age of steam. There are descriptions of the station and neighbourhood in those years.
