Listen "Duas formas de você melhorar seu speaking"
Episode Synopsis
Hello everyone, and welcome to another Dicas de Inglês podcast. My name is Alisson, and I'm your English teacher. Today, I want to talk to you about two ways to practice and improve your speaking skills.
The first way to improve your speaking is to practice with a language exchange partner. This is someone who is learning your native language and is willing to speak with you in English. You can find language exchange partners through online forums or language exchange apps such as TANDEM. I will write the name of this app in the description of this podcast. When you speak with your partner, make sure to focus on speaking in English and correcting each other's mistakes. This will help both you improve your fluency.
The second way to improve your speaking is to record yourself speaking and listen back to it. This can be a bit difficult at first, but it's a great way to identify your weaknesses and areas for improvement. You can record yourself speaking in English and then listen back to it to hear how you sound. This will help you identify any pronunciation or grammar mistakes that you may not have identified while speaking. You can also ask someone who also speaks English to listen to it and give you some feedback. You can also practice speaking on specific topics or with specific vocabulary to help you prepare for real-life situations.
If I could give you some ideas on how to record yourself, I would suggest finding some questions on the internet that you can answer. Questions such as: Where are you from? What do you like to do in your free time? What did you do yesterday? So, get these questions and answer them for yourself. While you’re answering them, record yourself and listen to the recording later on. If you are shy, you can record yourself when no one is at home.
It's important to practice speaking regularly and consistently, even if it's just a few minutes a day. The more you practice, the more comfortable and confident you'll become speaking in English.
Well, there are many ways to practice and improve your speaking skills. Find a language exchange partner or record yourself speaking to identify your strengths and weaknesses. Remember to practice regularly, and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Alright! That’s all for today. Thank you for listening and I'll see you next time.
