Today is Ascension Day. You may have it marked in your calendar and it also used to be a South African holiday. Many of us understand the importance of Good Friday, when Jesus died for our sins, and Easter Sunday when he was raised from the dead. But for many Christians and churches, Jesus’s ascension is simply an afterthought to Easter and Good Friday.
Today I want to reflect on the significance of Jesus’s ascension, exaltation and specifically His enthronement, in hopes that this significant and climactic event in Jesus’s life is not just an afterthought for you today.
