Listen "67 – Jamie Lockhart – New Nuffield Scholar"
Episode Synopsis
We start the new year with Webby’s thoughts on the markets in the Dewing Grain market report for week commencing 6th January 2020. In Farmchat, Webby and Joe meet up with Jamie Lockhart who returns to the podcast over a year since his last appearance to chat about his Nuffield Scholar which will be taking him to New Zealand and Australia, the USA and the Netherlands to research his study topic of: "Unlocking the potential of data use and agri-tech within agriculture." We hear a potted history of the Nuffield Scholarship and how Jamie's application unfolded. Jamie explains why data is important to farms and how if we can collect and utilise it better what might be the benefits to farmers, especially as farmers have to concentrate efforts on efficiency more and more in the future.
