Listen "46 – Jason Borthwick – Finding A Happy Place"
Episode Synopsis
This week Andrew gives you his latest thoughts and insights in the market report for week commencing 29th July 2019. In Farmchat this week we hear from Jason Borthwick about how he has continued a family tradition of diversification by developing his family's 650 acres, Deepdale Farm, into a multi-stranded business including a backpackers' hostel campsite, as well as being a landlord to the shops, cafe and supermarket that make up Dalegate Market. Alongside these businesses, there is annual music festival and a series of events throughout the year, including a recent Hygge event. Hygge is all about finding what brings you happiness and, as Webby joins in, he confesses that harvest is his Hygge. Our beer this week is Humber Doucy King Slayer. Harvest 2019 is here.
