Listen " How Perimeter Medical hopes to use OCT & AI to boost surgeon confidence & patient peace of mind "
Episode Synopsis
In this episode of DeviceTalks Weekly, we’ll hear how Perimeter Medical Imaging AI hopes to help surgeons get a clearer picture of whether they removed all cancerous tissue in a surgical procedure. CEO Adrian Mendes explains why 20% of patients who have undergone a lumpectomy must undergo a second operation to remove cancerous tissue that had been missed. Perimeter recently released the positive results from its pivotal study showing it more effectively addressed residual cancer at the surgical margin during surgery as compared to current standard methods. The company is planning to file a PMA with the FDA. Mendes also talks with Host Tom Salemi about his path from the technology industry into running an OCT and AI company targeting oncology.
