Listen "Amanda Berry Smith: Tenacious Faith in Trying Times"
Episode Synopsis
Amanda Berry Smith was born into slavery in 1837 on a farm in Maryland. She was one of thirteen children born to her parents who were also enslaved on separate plantations. She faced incredible obstacles to fulfilling God's call to preach the gospel. Despite the challenges, Amanda was faithful and continued her work leaving a lasting impact on the world. On this weeks episode of Deeply Rooted, Planting Roots (PR) Publishing Director, Morgan Farr is joined by PR Prayer Warrior, Denise Jolly. They share the incredible life of Amanda Berry Smith and what we can learn about true trust in God to provide for our needs, even amidst obstacles. Join us on our blog monthly for Women of The Word Wednesday. Once a month we highlight christian, military women in history. We look at these women to draw strength from their stories, wisdom from their choices, and faith in the God they served, so that we too may be deeply rooted while we walk this military life. Find their stories on our blog here https://plantingroots.net/blog/. Morgan Farr can be found across social media using her handle @margandfarr. Denise Jolly can be found on FB and IG @glitterfromashes.
