The Bible in John 3:16 said, "for God so love the world that He gave his begotten son that whosoever believe in him will not perish but have an everlasting life." The love He have towards mankind was what made Jesus release himself like a sheep that was to be slaughtered. He became the lamb that takes away the sin of the world. This is the greatest sacrifice in the history of man. So make sure to accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour to experience everlasting life
