Episode Synopsis

Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi AdekunleFaith Framework 8Thursday, 8th MayJesus, while teaching about prayer, used the story of the persistent widow in Luke 18:1-8 to illustrate the importance of doggedness and unwavering faith in the place of prayer. Despite the unjust judge’s reluctance, the widow refused to give up until she got justice. This prompted Jesus to ask, “When the Son of Man returns, will He find this kind of faith on the earth?” It was a serious question—born from concern that life's overwhelming challenges might cause people to give up on contending in faith. Many today only exercise faith to make heaven, not to receive what God has promised here on earth. But God wants us to awaken that kind of faith again. All through the gospels, we see how Jesus used questions to provoke thought and awaken spiritual consciousness like He asked in Luke 18:8. In Luke 8:24–25 (GNB), The disciples went to Jesus and woke him up, saying, “Master, Master! We are about to die!” Jesus got up, gave an order to the wind and waves, and there was calm. Then he asked, “Where is your faith?”Jesus had told His disciple that they were sailing to the other side of the sea, in the process a storm arose. Terrified the disciples in panic woke Him because they believed they were going to die. After calming the storm, He asked his disciples, “Where is your faith?”Jesus wasn’t implying they had no faith, at least they had enough faith to wake Him up. But He was pointing to a deeper kind of faith: the faith that stands strong in the face of life’s storms, faith that acts on His word without panicking.Just like then, Jesus is still asking us today: “Where is your faith?”I pray that before this study is concluded, you will find and develop the kind of faith that overcomes life’s storm and walks in victory daily in Jesus’ Name.God bless you, enjoy your day.
