Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi AdekunleSaturday 17th May How Faith Comes 6Faith begins with God. The scripture tells us that He gives everyone the measure of faith at salvation (Romans 12:3). However, we are not meant to remain at that starting point. Faith is meant to be ever growing till we operate in great faith.To truly walk in what God has prepared for us, we must mature in faith. It is not enough to simply say, “I have faith.” Faith must be demonstrated through consistent responses to God's Word. When we try to respond to God’s Word by the works of the flesh, this shows a lack of faith. Mark. 4:40 MKJV And He said to them, Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?Matt. 14:31 GWT, Immediately, Jesus reached out, caught hold of him, and said, "You have so little faith! Why did you doubt?" Matt. 15:28 MKJV Then Jesus answered and said to her, O woman, great is your faith! So be it to you even as you wish. And her daughter was healed from that very hour.When a person has no faith, it means the person is not responding to the Word or the person is responding in the flesh. Such a person doubts both God, His Word and His power. This is a dangerous place to be, because such a person is disconnected from the very source of life and strength. Someone once said, “Have faith in your faith,” It’s important to have faith in God but we must also have confidence in that faith we have in God.Let us move beyond the place of “no faith” and keep growing to the point of great faith—the kind that believes in the face of opposition and receives what God has promised.
