Episode Synopsis

Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi Adekunle Monday 19th MayFaith Feeders and Faith Drainers 1Our discussion this month is on the subject of faith. We have discussed The Faith Framework, How Faith Comes and this week, the focus of our study is - Faith Feeders and Faith Drainers. We have seen how important faith is to our spiritual walk, so the state of our faith is very important. We should always ask the question, Is my faith growing or static? If we are going to experience the victory that is ours in Christ, then we must be intentional about feeding our faith. But when we allow our faith to be static, it’s actually being drained and diminishing and that leads to defeated. What are the things that help builds our faith? Is it time in the Word, prayer, fellowship, or worship? Once we recognise what these things are, we need to commit ourselves to them. There are also things that drain our faith, once we identify, we must stay away from them. Things like fear, ingratitude, complaint, unforgiveness and other negative influences are drainers of faith and must be avoided.Isaiah 36:11–12 (GNB), “Then Eliakim, Shebna, and Joah told the official, ‘Speak to us in Aramaic, we understand it. Don't speak Hebrew; the people on the wall are listening.’ He replied, ‘Do you think you and your king are the only ones the emperor sent me to speak to? No, it’s also to the people who will have to eat their own excrement and drink their own urine—just as you will.’”King Sennacherib of Assyria had come to attack Israel, before invasion, he sends a message to intimidate Israel and discourage them before battle. The plan of the enemy was to create an atmosphere that would drain their faith.Atmosphere matters. What we expose ourselves to has a way of entering hearts and it would either feeds or drains our faith. We must intentional about feeding our faith so we can walk in the victory Jesus has already won for us.God bless you, enjoy your day!
