Episode Synopsis
James Laughlin went from 9-5 boredom to purpose-centred and passion-focused. He did not have a smooth ride into a life of purpose and freedom.
James started off in a small town in the north of Ireland, with loving parents and a humble upbringing. Teenage-hood presented some challenges and he lost his way in school. Fortunately, he found passion in drumming - becoming a two time world champion by the age of 14. He quickly realized...he is not keen to follow the herd.
James spent his early twenties roaming the world and creating income by setting up an international education & retail company. By his mid-twenties he got married, lived through several massive earthquakes and settled into a mediocre 9-5 existence within the education sector.
However, before he was age 30 he won seven world titles and multiple national titles, published two books, traversed a miscarriage and established a real estate portfolio.
His son Finn came into his world, gifting him the opportunity to be a Dad. James says being a dad has been the most amazing experience ever. He stepped away from the 9-5 and retired from international competing so he could be a present dad.
James discovered that living a life of purpose was NOT at odds with helping other people do the same. As a seven-time world champion performer and sought-after success coach, James was able to create a powerful framework to help CEO’s and Leaders make world-class their new standard.
Also, as a dad who wants to empower future generations to take charge of their destiny and lower the teen suicide rate, he has embarked upon an epic book project. To date, he has interviewed many legendary dads.
