Listen "Inclusive Coaching"
Episode Synopsis
What does it mean to be an inclusive coach? An inclusive sports program? Hosts Chris and Anthony reflect on last season's Little League issue and the cultural insensitivities negatively impacting young athletes, particularly Black youth. What is the the role of coaches to protect, teach and include all athletes as part of the team culture? The hosts discuss why coaches need to accept young people and athletes as their whole selves instead of 'leaving your problems at the door.' Chris and Anthony also talk about how you 'coach how you were coached,' and how dangerous this is for athletes, both on and off the court. Learn how the healing-centered sports approach can make sport a vehicle for systemic change. Contact the Center for Healing and Justice through Sport. Want to chat directly with our hosts?
