Second Sunday of Advent - Isaiah 11:1-10; Matthew 3:1-12Matthew puts the favorite phrase of Jesus into the mouth of John the Baptist today: "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!"  This phrase most likely does not mean what you think it means.  It is not calling us to individual penitence.  Instead, it is inviting us to think differently.  To reimagine our world.  To reimagine God and God's action within this world.  And to reimagine where our place and efforts fall into this picture.  Isaiah gives us a glimpse towards the end of his reading.  But we have to make this vision our own.  Special thanks to Bridget Zenk for her composition and playing of our intake and outtake music.  Thanks to you for taking time to open yourself to the Word of God.  Have a comment, question or challenge for me to add into the pod?  Email me at [email protected].
