Episode Synopsis
Send us a textDuring this episode, Marvin connects with music duo Dr Vades on their foundation in music. Dr Kane makes a brief appearance at the beginning, touching on the dance challenges that he created during the late 2000s and early 2010s period and expands on his thoughts on dance challenges in the Tik Tok era. Jay Vades explores a time where he needed to take a step back from making music in order to rediscover his direction musically and ultimately in life. One thing that they both realised, looking back, is that they were producing before they marketed themselves as producers. Jay Vades talks about how he pays closer to attention to Pharrell's writing and melodies than his beats, and envisions Pharrell's demo's when he listens to songs that Pharrell has written and produced for others. He explores his love and appreciation for unreleased songs produced by The Neptunes. Jay Vades also reveals his grime Mount Rushmore and more.Tribal Skank dance created by Dr Kane, being performed in 2009 via YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSc5S6jkP2QFull version of Tribal Man Skank song:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIjL0P9JWcsSpandau Ballet - True: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AR8D2yqgQ1UGo to minute 4:20, to see the part that Max Martin sampled for Backstreet Boys- I Want It That Way chorus, which Marvin and Jay Vades briefly discuss during this episode.Latrelle - I Need U Ft Pharrell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5elrCUNHfE (One of Jay Vades' favourite unreleased songs that were produced by The Neptunes)@Dr Vades
