Hear Sarah's experience of being disabled within the fitness industry and some of her advice for how to make fitness spaces more inclusive for people with a disability. We discuss advocacy, the difference between being pro active rather than reactive and some of the misconceptions of training disabled people. About Sarah Park:Sarah, a woman in her 40s based in the UK, gracefully navigates life with a lifelong disability. Her passion is dedicated to advocating for the rights and inclusion of disabled individuals, ensuring their voices are heard and truly valued.Sarah collaborates with disabled individuals to enhance their independence and boost their confidence. She also actively engages with businesses, entrepreneurs, and corporate entities to promote awareness about disability inclusion. She is committed to encouraging positive societal changes, and her mission extends to making the world more accessible and welcoming for everyone. For over 25 years Sarah has trained fitness and health professionals to work with clients with long-term conditions, mental health issues, disabilities, older adults and pre/post-natal women. She has a post-graduate diploma in exercise and health behaviour and extensive training in supporting behaviour change. She has worked with awarding organisations to develop qualifications and training and with accreditation bodies to endorse high-quality non-regulated training.
