Listen "Spy Movies & Real World Connections - Part 1"
Episode Synopsis
Is the world enough? Spy movies have always looked for real-world inspirations to incorporate into their spy movies! The Duke of Wellington makes an appearance in Dr. No, James Bond, in the pre-title to Goldfinger, removes his wet suit to reveal a perfectly neat & crisp white dinner jacket & bow tie . . . this came right out of a real World War II operation! Who was the real spy? Fake deaths, like in You Only Live Twice, rooted in other real World War II operations. Piz Gloria and chemicals – we found a real event in 1968, and lots more! We will take a look at how some real-world events found their way into some spy movies, in this podcast, from 1962 – 1969. So, let's go exploring & discover some hidden connections! This is Part 1 of a two part series. If you have any suggestions on what to include in a future podcast, send them to [email protected] Podcast Website page: https://bit.ly/2ZQqjRR
