Listen "Valentine's Day Meditation"
Episode Synopsis
Pause & Reflect with me as we celebrate Valentine's Day:1 Corinthians 13 says: "If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal… if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor … but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, [and] always perseveres.
Love never fails. …
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
St. Valentine is remembered as the patron saint of love and marriage. Listen now.
Good morning. This is Chaplain Kevin. Would you pause with me and reflect as we begin this morning.
Today, we celebrate The Patron Saint of Love, Saint Valentine, who was martyred in the 3rd century, for helping persecuted Christians get married when it was illegal for them to do so. Saint Valentine is remembered as the priest who displayed his love and devotion to God by uniting God’s people in Holy Matrimony.
This morning, let us read a scripture passage about Love which is commonly used during wedding ceremonies…
