Episode Synopsis
On this episode of Concrete Credentials, Gregg is joined by Matt Morris, Senior Instructor in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Matt shares with us his personal experience of losing his family’s home in Boulder, as well as thousands of other Colorado residents, to a destructive wildfire in early 2022. Gregg and Matt discuss the wildfire’s impact on Matt’s perspective on construction strategies, how Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) play a role in building non-combustible structures, and how to plan for safer homes in the future.
