Listen "Women’s Hair Loss "
Episode Synopsis
I have been suffering from Telogen Effluvian for a little over a year. Telogen Effluvian is hair loss triggered by a stressor (illness, surgery, accident). It’s been a long and at times, upsetting journey. What I have realized is that so many others are suffering from TE also. Most people who had Covid-19 have lost their hair after being sick and yes, that’s Telogen Effluvian. Along this journey I learned about treatment options, there are none for TE because it must run it’s course and it will eventually stop. But there are other forms of hair loss and there are some treatment options for those. I know for myself, taking care of my hair was never a thing. I took care of my skin, my teeth, my body- but not my hair. I took it for granted. Now I know how to take better care of my scalp and hair. I am mindful of the products I use and I am grateful for every single strand that stays put. If you are suffering from hair loss or know a someone who is, there are support groups that can help and people out there who understand what you’re going through. Please do not hesitate to reach out. Sometimes we need other people to give us hope and lift us up. If you have questions about hair loss or would like a support group recommendation, feel free to email me at @[email protected]
