Listen "Dispelling the overnight success story, with Sinalo Jafta"
Episode Synopsis
In today's episode, I speak to the South African cricket player Sinalo Jafta. Sinalo speaks about the hardships she faced growing up with a single mother and how her mom is still her biggest motivation today. Sinalo always knew that she would go pro, and has had a great level of confidence in her ability as an athlete while she was still at school. She knows that if she puts her mind to it that she can do it. This confidence quickly developed in arrogance, until life forced her to realize that she is not that great, yet. After making her debut for South Africa, she went two years without a callup. This forced her to confront her ego as she began to doubt her ability. Though this period was challenging, she learned so much valuable lessons that not only makes her a better player, but a more compassionate and humble person.
During this episode, we dispel the overnight success story and the role luck plays in your success. Sinalo also speaks about the NGO initiative that she recently got involved in, and shares what success means to her.
Stay tuned, this episode is one not to be missed.
