Now available on Netflix, Wish Dragon is a new computer-animated fantasy comedy from Sony Pictures Animation. It's an American-Chinese redux of Aladdin, with Chris Appelhans as writer and director and Jackie Chan as producer and voice actor for the Mandarin dub. The film stars Jimmy Wong as Din, a Chinese teenager who unwittingly discovers a genie-like "wish dragon," voiced by John Cho, who might be able to grant his deepest desires. The voice cast also includes Constance Wu, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Jimmy O. Yang, Aaron Yoo, Will Yun Lee, and Ronny Chieng. This review is an excerpt from Episode #224 of the Cinemaholics Podcast.
