Listen "Boogie"
Episode Synopsis
Special guest Cory Woodroof joins us for our review of Boogie, the directorial debut of Eddie Huang, a chef and author of the memoir Fresh Off the Boat, which is also the inspiration for the hit ABC sitcom. It stars Taylor Takahashi as Alfred "Boogie" Chin, a high school basketball player in New York who has to grapple with his Asian American identity, a new relationship, and a heated rivalry that might determine his future as a professional player. The film also stars Taylour Paige, Bashar "Pop Smoke" Jackson (in a posthumous role), and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. Read Inkoo Kang's review of Boogie for The Hollywood Reporter. Our intro music this week is “The Night Café” by Mad Candor. LINKS Follow us on Twitter: Jon Negroni, Will Ashton Support our show on Patreon. Follow Cinemaholics on Facebook and Twitter.
