Chiropractic changed in 1907 from a 'start-up' to a contender through the Morikubo case. A young recent grad from Palmer Chiropractic College was jailed in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, accused of 'practicing medicine without a license.' BJ Palmer and his new attorney's came up with the 'Separate and distinct' defense, proving that chiropractic is not medicine and masterminding the first chiropractic victory, thereby paving the way for chiropractic's future.
