Holi is around the corner, in India Holi will be celebrated on 26th March.

Holi is the Festival of Colors, traditionally celebrated to welcome spring, as well as the harvesting season. Holi is celebrated with music, food, and a lot of color. The main festivities involve tossing colored powder at one another or soaking others with colored water. Colors everywhere, joyous celebrations, singing, dancing…Holi is a boisterous occasion. It’s a festival that brings joy and mirth, fun and play, music and dance, and, of course, lots of bright colors!

It is all about spreading the colors of happiness around and when colors are spread with a cause, then it is called Asha Stanford Holi which is a very popular and well known event in the bay area. This year the event is on April 6th and 7th 2013.

Today on Chai Time, we are going to celebrate Holi with some very special guests. We are happy to have Snetu Karania and Shikhar Agarwal, dedicated volunteers from Asha who are closely involved in organizing this much awaited event in Bay area. We will discuss what it takes to organize event like Asha Stanford Holi which was attended by 11000 people last year, and how the proceedings from this mega event are used by Asha.

We will also talk to Snetu and Shikhar regarding their motivation and thoughts about getting associated with Asha.

And as always, we will listen to some popular Holi songs.
