This is not a side channel that has gone dry - it's about one-half mile of the main channel of the Spokane River, which runs 111 miles between Lake Coeur d'Alene in Idaho and the Columbia River in Washington. The stretch of dry river is in Spokane Valley, Washington a suburb east of Spokane, Washington.
