BRIAN CARLIN Burlington County Surrogate Brian Carlin has served as the Burlington County Surrogate in January 2022. Brian graduated from St. Joseph’s University with a B.S. in accounting. He received his Juris Doctorate at the Widener School of Law. He was admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania in 1986 and in New Jersey in 1987. He was a sole practitioner with offices located in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Brian’s practice included Estate Administration, Estate Planning, Estate and Trust Litigation and Guardianship. He has written over 800 wills and represented parties in estate proceedings in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Brian has served as Court Appointed Attorney and Temporary Guardian in a number of guardianship proceedings in Burlington County since 2012. He has previously served our community as a member of the Burlington Township Board of Education for 3 ½ years, as a member of the Burlington Township Council for 5 years and as Mayor of Burlington Township for 11 years.
