I'm excited to introduce you to two guests on the latest episode of the Building Texas Business podcast. Chef Kiran Verma, Chef and Owner of Kiran's restaurant here in Houston, and her daughter Puja Verma, Director of Operations and Development.
Chef Kiran is known as the Godmother of Indian fine dining, and you will hear how, at the age of six, she learned to cook in her mom's kitchen in New Delhi, India, and then on coming to the US, she was inspired by early visits to Luby's for the recipes she still uses today.
Puja's background is also interesting, as she shares how she draws on her experiences learned working in finance for the oil and gas industry to drive the future of the restaurant.
