It was the bottom of the seventh, The hometown boys were down by 3.  The crowd of over 2000—- that had shown up to cheer on our mighty Conchs -were stunned. Maybe because as seasoned baseball fans we understood this is a game of statistics and the odds of us mounting a comeback we’re stacked against us.  But this team had been stacking wins all season - won the district championship and earned home-field advantage for regionals. They’d already won one -Win this game and head to State. Lose.
