Listen "Episode 12 - Lessons Learned"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode of Breaking Doctrine, our host, Captain Wyatt Harper discusses the relationship between Army Doctrine and Army Lessons Learned and how the lessons that we learn influence our doctrine. The lead organization for the Army lessons learned program is the Center for Army Lessons Learned, or CALL. CALL is well known throughout the force for embedding personnel with operations, collecting insights and observations, conducting studies of Army and Joint operations, and producing pocket sized handbooks that cover a variety of topics. However, best practices and lessons learned are not actual doctrine. Joined by Colonel Chris Keller, Director of the Center for Army Lessons Learned, or CALL; Mr. Rich Totleben, Deputy Director of CALL, and Mr. Chuck Schrankel, the Chief of the Command and Control Division at the Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate, or CADD.
