In this week's episode, Erica chats with Marie Souhaut about her master's thesis titled, Stereotyped whistles in southern resident killer whales. In her research, she was able to find new sounds produced by the Southern Residents. We discuss how she conducted the study and the implications of her research. 

Note: The noise used when talking about abherant may not definitively be an abherant sound, these are hard to classify. Just wanted to demonstrate some of the different types of calls the orcas can make.
