Katie Gearlds knows first hand how good Purdue Women’s Basketball can be when the Boilermakers can retain the top in-state talent. Gearlds, a former Miss Indiana Basketball winner in 2003, was a college star in West Lafayette from Day One winning Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors in 2004. Entering her third season at her alma mater, Gearlds has already experienced success landing quality in-state prospects. She and her staff did it again twice this week landing two Elite 60 prospects in the Class of 2025 in the process in Avery Gordon of Brownsburg and Kira Reynolds of South Bend.
