Listen "Ami Stuart: On Elevating Others"
Episode Synopsis
Ami Stuart is the Tech Events Manager for Entrepreneurship at Cornell University. In this episode, Ami shares her career story on how she worked her way up from washing dishes to running major Hackathons and Tech Events for Entrepreneurship at Cornell University. She shares strategies for elevating others, including through networking. Ami redirects us away from the word networking and challenges us to think about it as connecting with our friends of different depths & degrees. Ami describes everyone as a friend or a friend she hasn't met yet, which makes these connections happen more naturally. She shares her perspective on learning to connect with people as an introvert. Ami explains what Hackathons are and why they are so valuable for students and organizations. Lastly, she talks about the moment she became aware she was often the only woman in the room and how it has helped her better navigate those situations.
