Listen "Episode 22 - Type 1 Diabetes & Emotional Wellness, with JoAnne Robb, MFT"
Episode Synopsis
In honor of National Diabetes Awareness Month, today’s episode features psychotherapist JoAnne Robb, MFT, from Oakland, CA, mother of two children living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Her passion is working with families affected by the disease to support emotional wellness and healthy relationships.
JoAnne offers fresh perspective and practical answers to the behavioral questions that cause the greatest problems for parents raising kids with Type 1. She is wise and kind, and her transparency is so refreshing. JoAnne’s online coaching courses and free webinars are powerful resources for newly diagnosed families, as well as parents who know the ropes but would like additional help as their children living with T1D grow into adulthood.
JoAnne has a new podcast called Sweet Talk where she invites parents to ask her the pressing questions that keep them awake at night around T1D, emotions, and relationships. I love her work, because I believe it meets a real need nationwide for support with the feelings (grief, anxiety, fear, anger, resentment, denial) that often sabotage wellness for T1D caregivers and for the people they love.
If you are raising a child with Type 1 diabetes or you know someone who is, please listen and share! And, if you are living with Type 1 or any form of diabetes, take heart. This month we honor YOU!
