Blades Uncut is back for its first episode of 2022, welcoming a familiar face to the podcast. Former assistant captain Darren Dietz jumps on to chat with Mitch and Les about a chaotic last month, which includes a move to the Russian capital. In mid-December, the now 28-year-old was dealt from Barys Astana to CSKA Moscow - the home of hockey in the Russian Empire. The burly defenceman has spent the last few weeks adjusting to his new life in Moscow, while also navigating a city of 16 million people. Dietz dives into the details of the trade, and the opportunities he now has with his new team. Plus, the Medicine Hat, AB product shares what it was like to capture the IIHF World Hockey Division 1-A Championship with Team Kazakhstan.
