Educator Dominnica Washington expanded her passion for the youth outside of the classroom when she founded the nonprofit SHEChicago to mentor girls and teens in the area. Her background as an English major and desire to self-publish her own line of books for brown and black children, helped her not only monetize her craft, but inspired her to teach others in the community, including the youth, to do the same.
