We continue the serial story of "The Maevis Matter" in the Direwald Diaries. In our previous entry, a well-to-do and young girl named Maevis attempted to hire the gunslinger known as Eli to kill his mother. To prove she was serious, she offered a magical Sky Stone as payment. Unimpressed and slightly disturbed by the offer, Eli set to take the young girl back to her mother. His mind changed when she showed him the unusual bite marks on her arm as evidence. Curious, but still not accepting her, Eli decides instead to take Maevis to a doctor to determine the truth of the marks.
