Bitbear's contribution to TRSAC 2025's Oldschool Music Competition.
This song was originally made in Renoise with lyrics and vocals in mind, but as I've been struggling with insomnia the last months, I've focused on exercise to exhaust my body such that I'm able to sleep. This has given much less time to make music than I would like, and the vocals are thus still incomplete.
Also, to my surprise, TRSAC doesn't have a Streaming Music compo this year.
I can thank my wife for urging me to reproduce this song in Impulse Tracker so I can now happily submit it to TRSAC 2025's Oldskool Music Competition.
I have to admit that felt liberating producing in Impulse Tracker again after not using it for over 25 years. I'm definitely going to be spending more time producing oldskool tracker modules in the coming months, which excites me!
The idea for the song is that we all have hard days, especially as of late, and that everything seems bleak and depressing – I feel you. Times are hard. However, we all need to remind ourselves that we matter, we have value, and we are loved by someone.
