Episode Synopsis
As co-founder and Director of the Teen Suicide Prevention Society, Jackie’s determined to end the current epidemic of teen suicide.
From her middle daughter Stephanie’s short talk in August 2019, through standing on a TEDx stage in Las Vegas, to creating the “Talk That Saves Lives,” Jackie is committed to turning the tide on suicide.
Always a giver to great causes, when it comes to this one, Jackie accepts no limitations on her ability to support it.
The Teen Suicide Prevention Society (“TSPS”) is a 501(c)3 and all donations are fully tax deductible.
Jackie’s oldest daughter is the current Assistant Director and is expected to take the reins in early 2023 freeing Jackie to deliver more talks and create more programs that walk our loved ones away from the edge, ideally before they realize they’re even near it.
Jackie knows that it’s not that they want to die, our children are taking their own lives because they haven’t figured out how to live.
Jackie’s goal is to shift the focus of the mental health community off intervention for those deemed “at-risk” and focus it instead on building the social/emotional skills that will prevent suicidal thoughts from getting stuck inside someone’s head.
