The good news is that CMS finally released the 2018 Provider Utilization File just yesterday.  If you aren’t familiar with the Provider Utilization File, the podcast suggests 3 ways to use the data.  You can find out what your competitors are charging CMS by procedure code, you can estimate your market share by procedure code, and you can compare your evaluation and management code billing curves.  The data is almost 10 million rows, so you need a tool like Power Pivot or I can create a spreadsheet for you that only shows your procedure codes and your geographic area.  Either way, the Provider Utilization File provides interesting insights into your competition that are hard to beat.  If you want to know more about what your competition is doing, listen to this podcast today.
