Nothing replaces or is equal to love. Love is selfless and focuses on the needs of others. We see God through human eyes as the Holy Spirit allows, but we will one day see Him completely and clearly. Until this time, we must abide in faith and hope, and ultimately abide in love. Spiritual gifts are given for the edification of the church. Some gifts were desired more than others by believers at Corinth. The gift of prophesy should be desired above other gifts. All things done in the church should be orderly. God is a God of order. Paul commended women to follow the Law as it applied in the synagogues by not speaking during the assembly of the church. This was the place of instruction and teaching of the doctrines of the church.
