In 1984 Charles Band directed a low-budget sci-fi action horror that mixed noir, comedy and zombie elements. The movie didn't blow the world away but soon gained cult status and spawned 5 straight to video sequels. It helped future Oscar winner Helen Hunt get her acting feet off the ground and made former stand up comedian Tim Thomerson a b-movie icon.King Street Cinema's James Rowe joins me for the first of our Trancers episodes. we discuss the first two movies, he's a fan of the original but had never seen any of the sequels until recently.
