Listen "Author Dawn Hogan: Unbroken Bonds"
Episode Synopsis
Author Dawn Hogan's first novel - UNBROKEN BONDS - follows the lives of four fictional friends who meet in a home for unwed mothers in the era of closed adoptions. From the 1950's - 1970's millions of unwed mothers gave up their babies, the effects of which lingered long after they were released to resume 'normal' lives. For both birth parents and adoptees, searching opens up old wounds as they attempt to recover their loss. Dawn's book came about when a friend asked her to help search for the birth mother who gave her up for adoption.https://www.alcpl.org/Have questions about this episode?
