The Christmas story reads—and must have felt—like a series of sheer random events. It begins with a Roman decree from a distant emperor, a forced trip to Bethlehem, and a young couple caught in political decisions they didn’t choose. Nothing about it looks planned or spiritual at first glance; it simply feels random.Honestly, our lives can feel the same way—unexpected news, plans disrupted, and circumstances that appear out of nowhere. At Christmas, we celebrate that God brought purpose out of the randomness, even when no one could see it, but we often struggle to believe He’s doing the same in our own lives.
