Listen "BOOK 6: No More Mr. Nice Guy"
Episode Synopsis
The "Nice Guy Syndrome," refers to a pattern of behavior where men seek approval from others, avoid conflict, and hide their perceived flaws. These men often believe that being good, giving, and caring will result in happiness and love. However, this can lead to dishonesty, manipulation, and resentment. Nice Guys tend to put others' needs before their own and struggle to prioritize themselves, often making their partner their emotional center. They may also have difficulty expressing their feelings and setting boundaries. This behavior often stems from childhood experiences where they learned it wasn't safe or acceptable to be themselves. Ultimately, the book argues that to overcome this, men need to learn to put themselves first, make their needs a priority, embrace their masculinity, and live with integrity, and be willing to take risks.
