Welcome Mixtape #166 by Gimérique

After getting to know each other on SoundCloud in 2013, Florian and Benoit today work in tandem to bring dreamy electronic music into the air with a narrative mix of both, deep and thriving elements. Under his Bigasti alias, Benoit released on imprints such as Steyoyoke, Lost Diaries or Einmusik and quickly got recognition in the scene thanks to his unique melancholic approach in electronic music. Floloco, Florian's DJ project, sticks less strict to only one electronic music genre. The theme that unites his sets or mixes, is that particular "Floloco" groove. After years of experience in electronic music as individual artists, Gimérique unites the signature sound of the two electronic music enthusiasts to a new chapter on their promising path in the electronic music scene.

It all started with a joint DJ set released on the globally respected Schirmchendrink mix show, which the two founded together in 2015. After several joint DJ sessions they felt it was about time to take the project to the next level: et voilà, Gimérique was born!

With their first collaborative production in 2020, Gimérique took Lerr's 'Hummingbird' into deep and dreamy territory. Groovy and emotive in equal measure it made an auspicious production debut for Gimerique on Sound Avenue's first edition of their 'Re:Imagined' remix series.

Gimérique's first original production, 'Calm at Heart', was released in Spring 2020 on Harabe Recordings and explores a more ambient landscape of their sound. 'Calm at Heart" entered the Beatport 'Organic House' Top 100 charts only one day after its release.

Full of ideas and inspiration, the diligent two holed themselves in the studio during the pandemic to start working on various ideas that have been brewing over the last years. It will be with sheer excitement that the two will finally be able to announce their upcoming projects, and it will be soon.

Florian and Benoit individually, are passionate about electronic music ever since they can remember. Together, they are Gimérique.
